So... apparently I've gone from one, maybe two migraines a year to what seems to be a migraine every month. Although last month I think it was two migraines :S

All I can figure is that it's either A: my allergies B: Stress or C: a combination of the two. I talked to my mom about this and she asked me what I've been stressed about, which made me want to face-palm because, hello! We have family staying with us and she knows good and well how a crowded house has a way of eventually getting to me. It's not that the family staying with us is stressful to be around or anything - they aren't - but you know how it is when you're around people you haven't been around in a long time. It usually means having to endure things you're not used to, that you never really get used to, and that kind of get to you after a while. Then, suddenly, things that were no big deal become a constant source of aggravation.

And I'm thinking that may be provoking my migraines. In the past, sometimes when they've happened they've just happened, but other times there was a source of stress present, and I've been pretty dang aggravated the past two weeks (not just about the crowded house but other things as well). So, yeah... an endless cycle maybe? Ugh.

If it is allergies, then for once I look forward to winter :/

Ouch. You have my complete sympathy. I usually get 'silent' migraines (as in visual disturbance but no distinct headache) once a year, but had two a day for a month long stretch earlier in the year :/ I think patterns can just change for a time, especially with acute stress, then shift back. Hope that's the case for you :)

I'm thinking it is stress, probably compounded by allergies and pressure changes (allergies have been bad this summer, and our weather tends to be all over the place). I even had a reverse migraine once in which I got the headache then the flashy light in the eye, but it had been a one time thing. So, yeah, it probably is a matter of patterns shifting, and once I'm able to stress less it won't be so bad. *crosses fingers*

Ugh, that sounds horrid. :( I hope it clears up soon.

Thanks. What I hate the most about this is that, so far, it keeps trying to pop up at the worst possible times - like when one popped up while I was at the Humane society, and another the day before church (the headaches tend to linger for a few days) and I'd been asked in advance to help out with the nursery kids (they need all the help they can get, especially since some of the kids are little escape artists).

If I recollect correctly you posted something like this sometime ago......

I'm definitely thinking stress especially considering how agitated I was the past two weeks.

I don't know where you live, Hun, but where I live this is the worst time of year. I'm having trouble breathing (asthma), so I feel your pain. A different pain, but scary all the same...

Migraines are the devil

If you're getting migraines more than once a month, and eat/drink artificial sweeteners, they could be the cause. Those things give me reliable migraines (1-3 a month) and semi-flu like symptoms. Dropping artificial sweeteners out of my diet (as much as possible.. they can be hard to avoid if you eat out or with others a lot) means *maybe* 3 migraines a year.

Surprisingly, the added calories from sugary drinks resulted in no weight gain. Perhaps because I can be more active if I don't have a flu, cold, or migraine.
