I hate, hate, hate it when people feel the need to be crude at every opportunity. You know the kind of people I'm talking about. While everyone else is commenting on how nice so-and-so's hair is or their eyes or their clothes, this person has to point out something about so-and-so's crotch :S And you want so desperately to tell them to grow up, but can't since that usually ends in an open can of worms you don't want open, or can't because you're not a member of whatever site you're on so can't comment, but you wish someone would comment because you're getting really tired of everyone else enabling this person...

I'm in one of my "have zero tolerance for stupidity" moods, if you can tell. Probably more like subzero. And it really doesn't help that people are pointing out a certain thing about a certain someone that I knew would end up being noticed - because people are immature like that - despite the fact that it's more than likely not what it seems (in fact all evidence points to it not being what it seems, but like the immature people care).

Ugh, I just... need to not get on the internet when I'm feeling like this.

*sighs* Yes. I hate it, so very much. Even more so that people like that can be so in-your-face with things like that that I start to, as you said, have those reflex mental responses, thinking, "Great, someone is going to feel the need to go on about X, aren't they..."

And then if anyone objects, people start talking about how it's "prudish." No one seems to understand the concept of not being naive, not freaking out and acting like certain subjects should never be mentioned under any circumstances ever (although in some cases...), but just - having a some basic decency and sense regarding what is discussed in public.

I'm probably being a bit incoherent here. But it just makes me SO frustrated, and has spoiled my fun too many times. :/

Yes, this. And I don't think people realize how it makes them come across. Most of the time I think people are like that because they think they're being funny, clever, cute, cool, whatever, but... they're not! Quite the opposite, in fact; it makes it hard to take them seriously, let alone be around them.

"... this person has to point out something about so-and-so's crotch :S And you want so desperately to tell them to grow up..."

((((NODS)))))) childish, immature and a lot other adjectives cover this
Last night on the news they spoke about a happening in Portland.
We have Voodoo Donuts here as you may have heard as they have become a sort of national interest story, mainly due to the Food Network. Apparently there was recently some sort of Career Day and it was held at Molalla River Middle School, keyword middle school.
An employee of Voodoo Donuts began to discuss the business and as he did, he laced it with a lot of 'inappropriate language'.........and then he told the students in order to get a job there, you must know how to make certain kinds of donuts and he was quite explicit as he described them.
????????????????????????????????????
The teachers and parents were outraged.
One lady said something like "You would not present this kind of material to adults so why would you present it to children?"
The owner was mortified and said he did NOT represent the business........and said he had not notified the business he would be attending the Career Day.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooo TIRED of it all. It is so unbelievably crude and useless
The most annoying part is how invasive it has become...tainting every facet of communication now.
TV and films seem to believe unless they are full of F word and explicit whatever that we just would not be interested.
I find it refreshing to watch something that is NOT laced with all that is nasty IMO and I realize it is MY opinion so it really does not count for much.
Dad used to say that people speak in vulgarity because they are illiterate.

I'm not sure why people think that being so crude-minded will win them any points. Even people who aren't bothered by such things will get annoyed with it after a while. It's an incredibly low form of humor, because anyone can be nasty and crude, but it takes more to actually be witty.

((((NODS))))) absolutely.

Did I mention the steady stream of double meanings that they always throw out to entertain people??
It gripes me too.
What surprised, and DISAPPOINTED me, was when I heard how crude and vulgar Bob Hope was when he entertained the troops during his shows.
I find that entirely sad
I wonder what made him believe they only wanted vulgarity?
Not only my father but several military who I knew who were in country told me......same thing
