kriadydragon: (Obi-Wan)
You know, I've always been a healthy person. The only time I've ever gone to the hospital was for a broken arm, and to the doctor for neck pains and what turned out to be nothing more than bird allergies.

Apparently my body is making up for those years of health. First there was the sickness during the trip, now there's "current issue" that - while not life threatening or anything - has been bound and determined to make me suffer. Part of the issue (there's two part to this issue, you see) involves an infection - a cist or abcess or something - and yesterday it decided to become mightily inflamed and cause me the most agonizing pain I have ever felt in my life. Seriously, I have never felt such horrible pain like what I was feeling the other day. It was so bad I was crying every two minutes. I had my mom take me to the emergency room but there wasn't really anything they could do about it (although we did finally get an answer to what the problem was and what needed to be done in the long run... which was a fat lot of good where the agony was concerned :/).

Then I had to endure the pain even longer in order to sign up for a health insurance that we could have done at home over the internet (only to find out I don't qualify). Yeah, happy fun times. But then I downed four Motrin, applied an oil meant to help with issues such as mine, re-did the bandaging over said issue, and it was like the pain never happened. Then today I woke up to see that the cause of the problem had resolved itself. The infection is finally starting to clear up, leaving me with only one issue instead of two. But, man, did yesterday take it out of me. I felt completely icky today and mostly just slept, which is understandable. I will not mince words when I say that what I went through yesterday surpassed horrible. My biggest fear was that this is what I was going to have to endure until one or both issues were finally cleared up, this on-again, off-again pain with possible agony in between.

But the clinic I've been going to has been awesome in helping me. Because I don' have insurance they're doing what they can to make sure I get the help I need, although it may be a while before the other half of the issue can be resolved. But the other half of the issue I can probably live with for a time so long as I don't do anything strenuous (like heavy lifting). And you know, I'm okay with that. After what I went through Monday, as long as I'm pretty much agony free and can still do some of the things I want and need to do, I can live with it.

ETA: At the emergency room, the nurse and doctor would ask me to rate my pain on a scale of one to ten. The pain as a whole most definitely rated and eleven.

*Hugs* Thank you. I'm crossing my fingers that this issue wasn't what they thought it was, and that it'll go away on its own without the need for surgery.

I kind of keep joking that it was inevitable since I seem to go through a major health crisis every few decades or so :/

*hugs* I hate the crap that comes with no insurance. I hate that they've made health a business.

I hope things clear up soon!

I hate that insurance is pretty much mandatory, even for what is probably going to be minor surgery. We make car payments and house payments adn credit card payments, why can't we be allowed to do health-bill payments for something that isn't long term? Yeesh!

Thank you :) Things have gotten way better and now it's just a matter of getting my sleep schedule back on track.
