So my foster kittens were doing better once I started putting a little more pumpkin into their food. Their poop was more solid and their sores were going down. But I needed more pumpkin... and went and bought the wrong kind. Instead of regular canned pumpkin I'd accidentally bought the stuff with the pumpkin pie spices already in it, and hadn't realized it. Needless to say, it set the kittens back and I ended up furious at myself about it for several days. Luckily the kittens hadn't eaten that much, and once I was able to get them back on regualr canned pumpkin they began to improve.

These poor kittens, seriously. I had to take them in today to get checked, which meant having to endure a quick bath, another lesser bath for their faces, swallowing nasty medicine, waiting for me to get my volunteer stuff at the shelter done, then going home just to get another bath after they pooped in the carrier and stepped in the mess.

They are now fed and happily passed out on a warm heating pad. But tomorrow, more medicine.

I have never had this much trouble with a litter of kittens, ever. But between the medicine and the canned pumpkin, their digestion will be normal, dang it. Now it's just a matter of eventually weaning them off the milk and onto cat food, which will probably take a while since I'm going to do it sloooowly. And I mean really slowly. If anything messes up these kittens' digestion it takes for flippin' ever to get them back on track.
