Heh, me again! ^^; Seems I have a craving for some gen Bucky H/C and Steve being all protective of him. Anyone know some good fic like that?

Fic in general, or fic specifically set around and after the new movie? I used to read a lot of this sort of thing, but I haven't in awhile, so I don't know any of the new stuff.

For older ones, here are a few from my bookmarks back when I was reading a lot in this fandom:

Lay Back, Lay Back - Bucky can't sleep; Steve etc try to help.

Art Therapy - indulgently hurtcomforty fic series about a severely traumatized Bucky and Steve trying to gently break through to him.

Brothers in Arms - general friendship and everyone trying to help Bucky; some neat Bucky and Tony parts, as well as Bucky and Steve.

That Kind of Day - neat outside POV on Bucky and Steve.

Recursive - not actually THAT much h/c (though there is definitely some) but a very good long plot-driven gen fic in which Steve goes back in time to save Bucky from becoming the Winter Soldier the first time. LOADS of protective Steve in this one.

Iron Will - fusion with Pacific Rim in which they're Jaeger pilots.

This, You Protect
Okay, first of all, an enormous caveat: DON'T READ THE SEQUELS. First of all, they wander off in a slash direction, and second, they're kind of terrible. But the original fic is very funny and sweet and angsty.

and feel its total dark sublime - okay, so this is really more about Bucky putting himself back together, with just a little Steve, so not entirely what you were looking for. I really like it, though.

Escapement - another badly traumatized Bucky fic, with very sweet interactions with Steve.

Hollow and Honeycomb - Wingfic! It's more focused on Sam, but Bucky's also in it, and the worldbuilding is lovely.

... I should probably stop. XD But yeah, Bucky h/c and Bucky recovery fic was totally what I was looking for, so my bookmarks are full of them. Most of the long plotty ones were slash, but there were a number of good short gen ones.

Thank you so much! :D I'm not particular, just as long as it's not too AU (and by that I mean "the one where they're doctors with no superpowers and the story has absolutely nothing to do with canon at all). Canon-realted AU is fine, though. I just want more hurt, traumatized Bucky and Steve being there for him.
