Doppelganger Plot Bunny for Sale!

I hate being a season behind. Spoilers are fun but they don't cut it in getting to know an episode. I got an idea for a Doppelganger tag, but since I haven't seen the episode, I don't feel right about writing it.

I liked to see a story that deals with Sheppard being the one whose face the entity took. The aftermath with people, maybe, still afraid of him. How they try not to be afraid but can't help it, Sheppard finding out, maybe with a bit of whump (Ronon or Teyla gets spooked and accidentally attacks John, hurting him.)

Is this story idea even possible?

I'll even do a story in return with a plot of your choosing. If no one is able to use it (too busy, or something else) I can read the transcript and try to write it, but I'll need someone to beta it to make sure it works. I'm not usually big on writing tags, and when I do write them I prefer having seen the episode first.

Hmmmm....yeah, I could maybe do this. Especially for a story in return. I've never done this before. How does it work exactly?

Basically, you just give me a plot idea of something you'd like to read. I don't do, (if you haven't already guessed) het, slash, McKay whumping and gut wounds. Anything else is fine.

Man, I really want to do the tag for Doppelganger, but I have to wait to see the episode. I guess I'll just have to do something different from whatever you write when the time comes. It's actually driving me quite crazy.

Sounds cool. I don't like to read het or slash anyway, and McKay whumping is alright as long as its mostly Shep whumping. Don't mind gut wounds though.

So for my plot...maybe this is kind of vague, but I'd like to see something where Sheppard is temporarily in a wheelchair (like sprained both ankles or something else non-permanent--do whatever you want) and while he's recovering on Atlantis, gets himself into trouble because of the wheelchair (either he's not used to maneuvering the thing or he forgets he's not as quick and can't move as easily as he expects), resulting in further injury and problems. I'll leave that up to your imagination.

Will that work? If you don't like this idea, I can probably think of something else. Let me know.

Oh, one more question. Do you know what happens in Doppelganger? Do I have to worry about spoilers, as in...ummm...who lives and who doesn't?

I'm a spoiler junkie, so I know what happens. But, in order to do any kind of a tag, I have to actually see the episode (visuals help a lot). So no worries about spoiling me, I've been thoroughly spoiled.

And your prompt is already giving me ideas ;)

This is the fastest I've ever finished a story (luckily for you--usually it takes me months). I just posted it on FF.net, and there's a link to it from my LJ page. Hope you enjoy! I messed royally with the structure after I got the first draft down, so any comments or feedback on whether or not all that back and forth worked and made sense would be greatly appreciated.

If you're still dying to do a Doppelganger tag, I'd love to beta it for you. I bought the episode off iTunes and have watched it about 3 or 4 times now. I have to say, it was my favorite episode for two weeks, and then Tabula Rasa aired. I can't wait for you to watch season 4. So far, it's awesome!

Oh, and let me know if the story I thought I posted didn't actually post. I wholeheartedly admit to being completely computer illiterate.

I just read it and left a comment. I thought the back and forth worked very well. I tend to be an impatient reader, and jumping into the action like that really hooked me. At the same time, the back and forth kept me hooked - I got an explanation for how it came to be, with interludes that satisfied my need to know what was going on with injured Sheppard and the wolves.

Sorry for the long critique, but what you did worked very, very well.

I may very well get impatient and end up writing a DP tag without seeing the episode (GW already has the transcript for it). We'll see, we'll see.

As for your story, I'm still working it out in my head, but I think I have an idea now. Hopefully I'll have it up sometime next week.
