kriadydragon: (Danny 2)
Oy, that man can act! Seriously.

I'm generally, as it were, a rather cold-hearted person when it comes to things that are supposed to make you cry. I hate crying over something that happened on a TV show or movie, so pretty much don't. It's not real, and I don't like wasting tears over things that are fictional.

So it takes a lot to get me even close to crying. CSI:NY has now brought me to that brink, twice, and all because of Danny. Seriously, that guy does such beautiful emotional scenes. When he went to tell the boy's mom what happened, then that scene at the church... *wibble!* Oh! I just wanted to hug him! And I'm so glad they didn't screw it up with Lindsey trying to comfort him. I know the shippers probably would have loved that, and it probably would have been okay, but I was afraid it would have led to comfort cuddling or sex or something, which would have been - to me - rather cliche and cheesy. I loved how it was handled, left unresolved, one more scar on poor Danny's heart. Man, he is taking quite the emotional beating. And I loved that he didn't go ballistic and do something stupid, as some cop shows will have characters do. The writers focused on the emotions, not reactions, creating something incredibly heart-breaking... and it's still making me misty-eyed!

This is why I like Danny. He's so real, especially when he gets emotional. I love that this supposedly tough guy can break down so easily and even openly, and in typical guy fashion: trying to fight it but can't, so having no choice but to let it happen. He's the reason I watch the show, so if they ever got rid of him, it's a safe bet I'd stop watching.

Totally agree. When I saw the previews I thought something happened to Flak, but then seeing it was the little neighbor boy..GASP! Poor Danny... When he sank against the wall in the hallway across from the mom, inside the church sitting behind her... wow that just so..so... you said it earlier. And the no Lindsey...I'm so glad they didn't make a mushy scene with her!

The hallway scene, when the mom begged him to tell her that her son was okay, and Danny said he couldn't do that... I thought I was going to have to bolt for the nearest tissue box.

I know I already said it, but a Danny/Lindsey scene would have cheapened the episode, and would have felt like a quick-fix IMO. As is, the episode has opened the door even wider for future Danny angst. And he does such wonderful angst!
