Plot for sale! Who will buy my plot! Actually, it's free.

I was reading a story today where John breaks his back and becomes handicap. It got me thinking about the two types of severe injuries stories - the one where there's miracualous healing, and the one where there's no healing.

It gave me the idea for a story in which John is severely injured and nanites are used to heal him. Either the nanites take over (either putting him in a hallucination like in The Real World, or control his body, or mind, or whatever) or the presence of nanites in his body makes him a security risk, he's locked up, studied and, maybe, is treated poorly (less human, more specimen). He tries to escape, which only makes matters worse, or thing are done to him that are slowly causing him to deteriorate.

And Rodney, of course, struggles to find a way to help John by either proving the nanites are harmless or searching for a way to rid Sheppard of the nanites.

If no one decides to take this, I may take a stab at it, but it's a big "maybe". So, please, feel free to run with it if you wish.

I tried to give away my own bunny the other day, but no one wanted the poor little guy. *snuggles him* I despise stories in which the character doesn't recover from an injury even more than death fics, so I skipped that story when it popped up on FF, but it sounds like your bunny allows room for recovering, so if I'd had much luck writing these guys, I might consider it, but alas I've not, so... I hope someone adopts him and gives him a good home. *pats the bunny*

So do I. I have enough ideas as is. Lately, my ideas have been revolving around themes. The theme for this plot is experimentation, and I have, about, three or four ideas that came from it. One I may do. It involves a quantum mirror and an evil John switched with good John, and good John being experimented on. But I don't plan on writing it for some time. I need to write some lighter fic, take a break from the dark fic for a while.

Man, I hate death fics! Unless of course it's canon.

Good luck with all yer wee bunnies! I totally wrote an AU that's just for me, but I couldn't get it out of my head. I know there's a lot of people who don't like AU, but I think it's kinda fun when written properly. Now, I'm working on some TC stuff... Brendan has taken over. Also writing a Lorne/Sheppard friendship. I actually wrote it long ago and forgot about it. Weird how that happens. Just needs an ending.

I'm ready to kill my wee plot bunnies. They won't stop! I have way too many ideas, all of them dark, all of them involving poor John either abused or sick. I need to do some light fic, consarnit! Team-centered stuff.

I've actually been bitten by the AU bug and am currently working on a longer AU piece - at my liesure so I don't know when it will be done. I'm really enjoying it, too, and I think it's going to be a doozy.

That happens to me all the time. My story, Siren, I started months ago and finished only recently. Same with Exploring the Pegasus Galaxy from Home. And I've got a ton of stories that all they need are endings (if I could just figure the endings out.)

Even worse than plot bunnies is reading a fic that just never got finished. The author abandons them, and leaves me hanging. I told [livejournal.com profile] karri_kln1671 about Blackmail (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2880695/1/) Really good, but nothing for over a year. I'm stealing it! LOL Or, someone writes something with a good plot and a bad delivery. (Sooo many of those lately. And they're just kids, and I applaud them for getting it out there, but... You know what I mean...) I start thinking, What would I do with that?

I have 8 open-ended stories. Eight. And if I don't incorporate them somewhere, I may go mad. Well, madder. I just write down plots I'd like to see, and maybe get around to it.

Someone wrote a nice fic where John was the only one not hurt on a mission, and everyone's injuries were inadvertently his fault. Nice little guilt fic. That would be sorta light, right?

Luck!

Unfinished stories are why I stopped doing WIPs. I did an Andromeda story a while back that I was one chapter away from completing, and had no idea of how to finish it, so never did *hangs head in shame*. I do understand why uncompleted works happen, but at the same time feel it completely wrong and unfair to readers to start a story, get halfway through it, then never finish it. Again, the reason why I stopped doing WIPs and why I tend to be against WIPs (especially stories where the person makes it up as they go). Too many people either lose interest or lose plot bunnies.

I get frustrated with stories that take a good plot and butcher it with poor writing. What I really hate is good plots that the author taints unnecessarily. For example: authors who stick romantic pairings in a story just because they think it's what everyone likes (or because it's what they like). Problem is, the romance has no real purpose. It's there just to be there, and the story itself would have been just as good (sometimes even better) without it. It's something I've come across quite a bit, mostly with het romances (and, of course, the story is still labeled as gen.)

Someone wrote a nice fic where John was the only one not hurt on a mission, and everyone's injuries were inadvertently his fault. Nice little guilt fic. That would be sorta light, right?

Interesting. Where is that story?

By light, I mean a good old-fashioned team adventure with a good amount of whump that isn't too much or too little. no major torture, no Sheppard going insane (angry, maybe, but not insane.) A story of the kind that could be an episode... but with more whump, because the whumping on the show is never enough ;).

I'd just like to write quick, short chapters. But I can't seem to do that. I love old fashioned adventures. And mysteries. Which is why I enjoy writing TC fic.

That story is Confidence Leadership and Teamwork (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3002515/1/Confidence_Leadership_and_Teamwork)

I'm willing to give it a try, but it might take a while (but not 6 months this time!) since I have a story for the ficathon to write.

Coolness. Just remember, it's not something I'm requesting, just an idea I'm giving away to anyone in need of ideas, so it's nothing that "has" to be written.
