Fic Exchange? Anyone?

I'm probably going to regret this, but I think it may be time for another fic exchange. Though I'm not wanting for ideas for longish fic, my motivation for short, quick one-shots has been nil, lately, and I've been having this craving to write some good old fashioned Shep-whump. My problem, you see, isn't that I don't have any ideas, but that I don't have ideas I want to write. And those I do try to write end up going nowhere. My hardrive is currently bursting at the seams with fic that refuse to let me finish them.

I long for the ideas that spawned such vicious whumpers as Squaring the Circle, Eyes Wide Open, Buzz, Crash, Parasite, Freak, Little Man Sheppard and so on, and the motivation that got me to write them. Unusual whump, creative whump. Where have such ideas gone! Where?! I think I need a little help, here.

I'd also like to read something that whumps Shep rather creatively. Maybe some Shep-Lantis where Atlantis isn't being all that friendly to Sheppard for whatever reason, an alien disease, a drug with an unusual side-effect, even an aftermath fic dealing with the fallout of either unusual whump or extreme whump that has left Sheppard in a bad spot. All I ask is no head, gut, or thigh wounds, please. Oh, and no slash and het, of course, but I think by now that's kind of a given.

Anyone willing to participate? I think how I'll do this is, instead of making it first come, first serve, I go with whoever has an idea I feel I can work with. Maybe even two people if more than one idea perks the muses up. Not promises on that, though. One-shots have been such a bane for me to plot and write, lately.

I have this mental image of John, suspended in the air and being used like a battery to power a building, such as one used in "The Tower". He's not in pain, or so we are lead to believe. He can hear and see everything, but not respond. It also won't allow him to age....so, the possibility for this going on for eternity is high.

Hmmmmm *considers* I'll have to get back to you after I've pondered it for a bit. I ahve to be careful as many of my ideas keep trying to turn into something long and arduous, and I just want something I could whip up in a day or two.

Okay, I think what I'm going to do is combine your story idea with Katstale's, because I like them both and think they fit perfectly. I've decided to go with Kristen999's idea to start off with, since it's pretty simple. Yours I'm going to try and tackle later once I have it all thought out.

This is something I've been wanting to read, but doubt I'll ever see. It really doesn't fit your criteria so don't worry if you skip it.

I want John to encounter the Iratus bug again. It could happen considering the worlds they explore. I want him and maybe someone else (Ronon) be trapped somewhere, or forced to go through a cave, dwelling, woods where there are some.

Maybe he sees them, maybe he doesn't.

Something happens, he gets trapped (or both whomevers) and he has to deal with the physiological effect of being threatened by one or more again.

Yes, I want him bitten by one again, maybe even more than one.

But not on the neck...maybe they attach elsewhere? What would it feel like again?

What would happen to him?

And what would be the aftermath both physical and emotional? (That's a must)

I don't want cheese which is why I've never proposed this to anyone before because I know you could handle both.

I could write you something AFTER mid-July.

Anyhow, think up a few things you'd like to see, all I ask is more than one choice, but take your time. I won't hve any time to write till after Big Bang :D

By then I'll be craving a one shot after "EM" and This other one :D

This is sort of similar to the first one posted, but I've been having this one plaguing me for awhile now. Sadly, I have no time to write it (too many others going at the moment) so if you want it, feel free. :)

While investigating a lab Shep disappears seemingly into thin air. (on or offworld facility, your choice) They search and search, but no sign of him on the LSD. Then suddenly he's there, only it's not really him but a hologram. He doesn't know where his body is though, so he can't help them find him. Eventually they do, of course, but he's in bad shape by then.

And the rest I'll leave to your very capable hands, if you want it. If you don't want it, well, maybe someday I'll get the time. :)

Sheppard changed thousands of years of history, but now the ghosts from a time line no longer lived are beginning to haunt him. The universe is coming apart at the seams and John's mind is going with it. Can the universe be saved without sacrificing John?

I dont' think I'd be able to work such an idea into a one-shot, but I like it as an idea for a future chapter fic.

What about a John and Dave story. Earthside. Maybe something to do with settling their father's estate and John finds some things out about his father and maybe his own past.

Actually, I have been pondering a Sheppard and Dave story, where Sheppard has been severely injured and has to stay with his brother while he heals. It's still in the works, though, so it's probably going to be a while before it's written.

This is probably not unusual enough, but I've had a bit of craving for John having a severe allergic reaction to something. I've seen a lot of that with Rodney, but not many with John. That's all I can think of right now - busy trying to beat back my own plot bunnies until I have time to feed them.

Maybe it could be a parastite that attaches and periodically releases whatever he's allergic to and they can't figure out how to get it off him??? I know, kind of lame.

I actually have a story where it's a device that makes Shepaprd sick - not really an allergic reaction, but it does cause him respiratory problems, along with heart and nerve problems. It was to be my next chapter fic, but ran into some plot problems that I'm currently reworking.

An idea that I've had lately (unfortunately, no gumption to write) is one where for some reason Rodney is carrying the weapons and Sheppard has the backpack of science gear while on some offworld 'thing'. Anyways, baddies nab them and think Sheppard is McKay, the great scientist who is known to fix anything...and they have something in need of fixin'! Trouble abounds!

??? If someone were to write it, I'd love to read it...
