*babbles incoherenlty* hplthbxgehtyehdncidfy it is done! The original fic is dooooone! The writing portion is doooone! Now there is only the editing, which involves less wanting to pull my hair out and no fickle muses wanting to do other things. *Sighs in relief* Now if only the stupid economic situation wold stop being so depressing, then I'd be the happiest person in the world :D

On to SGA fic!

Thanks! It is the biggest relief, it really is. And I totally can't wait to edit this thing. Despite being a pain to write, I really like the plot and look forward to really cleaning it up :D

Congratulation I know you've been working very hard on this. I bet its big weight off your shoulders and a big amazing feat!

Do you belong to one of those writing forums where an outside pair of eyes can help you in the editing process? Just curious how you're going about doing the second and third drafts.

Thank you. It is a relief, although it really shouldn't have been a feat. My first book ended up being four-hundred pages but took fewer months to write. This story is around the two-hundred mark (might be more after editing) and was the biggest pain to write. I find that strangely ironic :/

I usually try to get as many people as possible to read the third draft, but said people usually consist of my family (who are very honest, especially my mom who helped me cut a lot of unecessary description from my last book). I would love to get more "editors" involved, especially ones I'm not related to. I've actually thought about asking people on my flist if they'd be willing to help out. Problem is, it's an original fic, not a fanfic, so I'm a heck of a lot more protective of it. It's not that I don't trust people. More that, sometimes, people can't be trusted... if that makes sense :/.

Basically, I need to be careful, because you never know.

I wouldn't ask your F-list to be honest. There are tons of yahoo groups, LJ groups that are set up for people who write original stories where other people in your craft will critique/review your work so you know what to edit..and people who will actually edit your work for the polished version.

No matter how many times you re-write something, you always want an outsider to do that final edit before sending if to publishers.

But you've got the main huge, large thing done! You should be ecstatic!!

I shoudl take your cue and get cracking on my stuff..sigh

Hey you! I am super excited for you!!! If you would like help editing, DON'T HESITATE to ask! I am brutally honest and quite good at it, my roomie had me do her honors papers all the time and her prof loved me as much as he did her! I would be honored, dearest.

I am VERY PROUD!! :) YAYAY for Kria!!!

Heh-heh, thanks!

Man, I am so tempted to ask people on my flist to help. But... I'm not sure. My stories are my babies and you never know who might end up giving into the temptation of wanting to steal someone else's idea. Or, I don't know, cause other complications (for example: "I helped you edit so you need to pay me!" or something.)

Yes, I charge at LEAST $1,276 per hour. ;) And trust me, even if I did steal it, no one would believe it was mine!!! :)

Whatever, whenever you decide, let me know!

Congratulations! That's a wonderful feeling. I'm happy for you!

... out of curiosity, and if you don't mind me asking, do you have plans for the eventual fate of this novel, i.e. publication, self-publication, available online? Or do you tend to think that far ahead?

Date: 2008-09-18 05:48 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com
Thank you :D

Publication, Definitely publication. I did the self-publication thing, but due to formatting issues plus other various issues, the book hasn't been released for sale, yet (I'm starting to wonder if it ever will be). So I want to try an actual publishing company this time, just to see what it's like.

Congratulations! I know you've got to be walking on cloud nine, now that's the bulk of your writing is finished. It's exciting that you will publish this too. Yay!
