Durn them Spaceships

It's a sad, sad fact that I can imagine almost anything... except spaceships. Seriously, I try to come up with my own spaceships for a sci-fi story and my head starts to hurt. I can come up with alien worlds, weird creatures and, heck, even robots. But I can't come up with my own spaceships :P

Trying to create my own space ships for stories actually makes my brain hurt :P Thank goodness for Deviant Art, that's all I've got to say (and, no, I'm not taking other people's ship concepts. It just helps to have a visual to go by when I'm trying to figure out my own space faring vessels. Makes my head hurt less;)).

When I envision space ships I think immediately of the Daedalus as it reminds me so much of a space version of the Navy's aircraft carrier........

I can think of spaceships that all ready exist - like the ships used in SGA - but making up my own spaceships seems next to impossible.

Even before SGA began I thought of them more like aircraft carriers with huge hangar bays

a large contingent of marines...........ship's company appropriate for mission and perhaps a pilot at the 'helm'

That's what my mind tends to fall back on, plus whatever I've all ready seen in movies or on TV, but I'm never able to tweak them into my own creation.

Interesting thing is I could easily visualize Morticia's hive in Castles........
It was so clear.
It is for that reason why there MUST be some description for me in a story instead of a lot of lengthy dialogue
I read something awhile ago that was stuffed with dialogue little description and I found myself wanting to know...........
