You know, it's a good thing that, from what I've heard, Colin Morgan isn't a big fan of the Internet. I don't blame him. Here I am, just trying to find a photo from one of the plays he did, and of course Google or whatever the heck site I went to has to be all nice and helpful and offer me "other photos I might like," and now I really wish there was such a thing as brain bleach because.... gaaah! *gags* Why! Why would anyone photo shop his head onto... doing... and also doing... with a thing... Get it out of my head!
I just wanted a picture from a play he did!
*Pets poor Colin and hopes he never sees what I saw and wish I could unsee*
This is why I don't do stuff like Tumblr or Facebook and rarely do Internet searches of my favorite actors. I have no luck with these things, I really, really don't. Google searches scare me.
(ETA: At least the pictures were too small at the time for me to pick up on the details. Still, I wish they had been even smaller :/)

There was a classmate back in my community college days who was trying to do some research for a paper, clicked on a site that turned out to be porn and wasn't able to get it off until they shut down their computer.

Although, of course, I'm really blaming the people who thought it was a good idea not only to PS things like that, but furthermore decided to "share" it on the WWW for people to be traumatized by. >.<
(While we're on this cautionary tale train: I've been designing book covers for a self-publishing site. Try browsing the indie selection at a site like this and you will have TRAUMA GALORE, as I recently discovered... I'm still incredibly naive about the term "romance," (I expect kissing, and roses, and...well, not THAT) so shoot me. Pleeease shoot me. XD

Date: 2013-03-15 04:30 pm (UTC)From:What bothered me the most, other than what the pictures were portraying, was that such pictures could have the potential to do unpleasant things to an actor's career, even if they are just photoshops made by rather pervy fans. My first thought when I noticed the pictures was "I hope the actor they used never sees these" because he would have been mortified (but he's not big into the Internet, so hopefully he won't ever have to see them). And my second thought was that I hope no one is dumb enough to actually believe that's said actor in those pictures (because some people will believe anything, even when it's obvious what they're seeing isn't real).

Date: 2013-03-15 02:34 pm (UTC)From:Whyyyyyy. That kind of thing does just make you want to scrub your brain out, and it's awful when people don't even make an effort to properly tag or warn for things. It's like it just doesn't even occur to them that, no, really, some people seriously do not want to see those things. And sadly, even turning safe searches on and such is not enough to really block some of it. (I remember a while back when my mom was simply trying to find something like the Yellow Pages online, and going go a link that seemed like it'd be just what she was looking for... instead resulted in a site that you do not want to see, ever.)
*sighs*
